SolarCity Centre Linz

Based on a master plan developed by the architects Foster, Herzog and Rogers, a new city quarter was created for roughly 6000 residents. Solar energy is the quarter's primary source of energy.

The center of SolarCity, with its facilities for commerce and professional services, is the link between the two parts the quarter on either side of the main boulevard. A pergola structure, that serves as a means of weather protection and assumes other functions in regards to sunlight and solar energy, spans the narrow lanes and courtyards resulting between the modular building blocks.
