Townhall Conversion Ingolstadt

The main objective was the activation of the sequence of squares 'Rathausplatz' - 'Sparkassenhof' - 'Viktualienmarkt' - 'Theaterplatz', using a continuous, barrier-free design of pavements. The square becomes an open and flexible space for events. Besides the complete refurbishment of the Guildhall, a circular extension around the existing main foyer beneath the raised administration building was created. This extension integrates the citizens' service bureau and a café, which even outside of the working hours of the Guildhall, livens the square with its terrace.
