Both roads along the 'Mittlerer Ring' as well as both feeding roads from the Leopoldstraße onto the ring and the BAB-Access Nuremberg are to be enclosed over a length of 250m. The south tube of the Petuel Tunnel is lengthened on the exit ramp to distance the exhaust fumes as far east as possible from the housing development. Additionally, the structure acts as sound protection for the housing. A transparent, light and delicate construction was planned, which on one hand avoids the terminology of 'building', while still fulfilling its duty as a traffic structure with an engaging and dynamic form.
