Buildings in the Botanical Garden Shanghai

In the local recreation area near Shanghai a new 200 hectare large botanical garden was created for the EXPO 2010. The site topography is characterized by a 70 meter tall hill and an artificially modeled garden ring, in which all of the important buildings are integrated, including the reception building, the greenhouse and the research centre, which together encompass 75.000 square meters of gross floor area. With its dynamic form and the systematic changes in materials (concrete to glass), the buildings fit naturally into the landscape and garden architecture concept.
